● The competitiveness of project management is regarded as a essential and critical factor for winning a contract and improving a profitability of construction companies. ● In order to confirm and identify the competitiveness level of construction companies in Korea, this research carries out a interview and survey for professionals of the construction companies focusing on their project management competences. ● According to the survey, the construction companies are identified competent in design management, cost management, schedule management, quality management, HSE management, procure management, and material management compared to integration management, scope management, claim management and other area. ● In addition, the companies have a higher-competence level in planning, execution, and monitoring and control process compared to a competence for closing projects. ● In order to enhance the project management competence, the companies should develop standard procedures and project management systems and create an internal environment to carrying out work based on this.
